Course Information

What is the GDPR?

The EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR) is a new data privacy regulation for the European Union which aims to prevent personal data loss by improving data security for all individuals residing in EU Member States. Organisations have until 25th May 2018 to comply with the new law, or they could face fines of up to 4% of annual turnover or €20 million, whichever is greater. The Government has confirmed that the new legislation will be put in place regardless of the UK’s vote to leave the EU, due to Britain remaining as part of the European Union whilst the terms of Brexit are established.

Therefore, it is important that individuals responsible for the protection of personally identifiable information are knowledgeable and aware of the infrastructural changes anticipated as a result of the GDPR’s instigation. Alterations must occur and be fully operational prior to May 25th 2018, hence this online GDPR training course is essential and comprehensive.
